How do I sign my child up for tutoring?

Do you follow the New Zealand curriculum?

Yes! All our tutoring aligns with the NZ Curriculum, including NCEA. We focus on building strong understanding and preparing students for real assessments.

How do you match students with tutors?

We take the time to understand your child’s strengths, goals, and learning style. Then we find a tutor who’s the best fit. If it’s not quite right—we’ll keep trying until it is!
Can I request a specific tutor?

Absolutely! Just let us know who you have in mind, and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
How do tutors personalise each lesson?

Tutors adapt their teaching to each student—breaking down tricky concepts, using real-life examples, and tailoring practice to suit how your child learns best.
What if my child has learning challenges or special needs?

We’re here to support all learners. While our tutors aren’t specialists in special education, we’ll do our best to match your child with someone understanding and adaptable. Just let us know what they need.
How is progress tracked?

After every session, you’ll receive a detailed Lesson Summary with:
• Topics covered
• Engagement scores
• Homework (if any)
We also check in regularly to make sure your child’s on the right track.
Will my child get homework?

Only if it helps! Tutors may assign extra practice to reinforce what was learned—but it’s always manageable and meaningful.
My child is doing well—can tutoring still help?

Definitely! Tutoring isn’t just for catch-up. We help high-achieving students stay ahead, deepen their understanding, and build even more confidence.
Do you offer exam prep?

Yes! Our 1-Day Exam Prep Sessions are popular for consolidating knowledge before big tests like NCEA. Focused, effective, and stress-busting.
Sessions and Scheduling
How long are tutoring sessions?

Most sessions are 1 hour, but we can adjust this based on your child’s needs. Some lessons may be extended in 30-minute increments.
How often should my child attend tutoring?
▾
We recommend at least once a week to maintain momentum and reinforce learning.
Closer to exams, many students opt for extra sessions to prepare.
What happens if we need to reschedule?
▾
No worries—just give us as much notice as you can (ideally 48 hours), and we’ll work with you to reschedule.
What if my child doesn’t connect with their tutor?
▾
We want every child to feel comfortable and supported. If the match isn’t quite right, we’ll find a better fit—no stress.
Do you tutor both primary and high school students?

Yes! From Year 1 all the way to NCEA Level 3, we’ve got your child covered.
What should my child bring to their first session?
▾
Just a notebook, pen, and any schoolwork or topics they’d like help with.
